Platforms and Crossplay

3:09 ArcheAge Chronicles' Early Access is on PC through Steam only; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions were announced at the game's reveal on Sep 24, 2024 and their store pages (and the Epic Games Store's) are still live, but there is no console date and XL Games has made no statement about the console versions in 2026, as of Oct 20, 2026. Crossplay has not been announced. Consoles were part of the plan from the start: in XL Games' "Developer Diary - Our Vision" (Oct 10, 2024), a developer says, in Korean with English subtitles, that the team wanted ArcheAge Chronicles to be more mainstream than ArcheAge, and that making it playable on consoles as well as PC was a way to reach more players. When Early Access arrives is on Release Date and Early Access.

PC (Steam)

ArcheAge Chronicles launches its Early Access on Steam for Windows PC, and only there. Steam lists Windows alone (no macOS or Linux), "Full controller support", Family Sharing, and the kernel-level XIGNCODE3 anti-cheat. There is no separate launcher: the official site's Play button leads to Steam. The minimum is a 64-bit Windows 10 PC with an Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of memory, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER or AMD Radeon RX 6600 and 100 GB on an SSD; the full lists, and the demo's higher minimum, are on PC System Requirements.

PlayStation 5

0:22 A PlayStation version has been planned since the game was ArcheAge 2. In Kakao Games' interview from G-Star 2022, XL Games' founder Jake Song says, in Korean, that ArcheAge 2 was being developed as a multiplatform game for PC and consoles, with action combat as the top priority and Unreal Engine 5 visuals. Two years later the game was renamed and revealed at Sony's State of Play on Sep 24, 2024, and Yongjin Ham's PlayStation Blog post that day called it an online PS5 action RPG coming in 2025. The PlayStation Store page (concept 10011705) is still live, marked "coming soon" for PS5 with a Wishlist button and Kakao Games Corp. as publisher, as of Oct 20, 2026. Insider Gaming reported in 2024 that the PlayStation reveal trailer said PlayStation Plus would be needed to play online; Sony and XL Games have not repeated it since. No PS5 date exists.

Xbox Series X|S

The Xbox version was announced alongside the others at the 2024 reveal, and its Microsoft Store page (9NZQ2G7FM8L3) is live, marked "Optimized for Xbox Series X|S" with a placeholder release date of Dec 30, 9998 and Kakao Games Corp. as publisher. The store's data also lists Xbox One, "Xbox cross-platform multiplayer" and other capability flags; these are store metadata, not announcements, and XL Games has never mentioned Xbox One. Game Pass has not been announced, as of Oct 20, 2026.

Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store page shows "Coming Soon" and, like the console pages, still credits Kakao Games Corp. The official site keeps Wishlist buttons for Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation and Xbox. Early Access, however, is announced for Steam only.

Are consoles in Early Access?

1:49 No console Early Access has been announced. XL Games' Early Access plans and its Steam Next Fest letter mention only Steam, and Inven Global wrote on Oct 19, 2026 that Early Access is on Steam for PC. Ser Medieval says in his guide (Oct 18, 2026) that he got confirmation that consoles will not be available for the Early Access launch, which will be on Steam, and that no time frame could be given for the console release; that is his report of what XL Games told him, not an XL Games statement. Since Sep 15, 2026 XL Games publishes the game itself, and it has not said whether the console versions Kakao Games announced with it are still planned or when, as of Oct 20, 2026. MeinMMO wrote in Aug 2026, from Kakao Games' call, that there would be no final release on PC or consoles in 2026. The publishing change is covered on XL Games.

Crossplay and cross-progression

Neither has been announced, as of Oct 20, 2026. No XL Games post or interview mentions crossplay between PC and consoles or carrying a character across platforms. The only trace is the Microsoft Store's capability list ("Xbox cross-platform multiplayer"), which is generic store data. With Early Access on one platform, the question will matter only once a console date exists.

Steam Deck and handheld PCs

Valve has not rated ArcheAge Chronicles or its demo for the Steam Deck, as of Oct 20, 2026. The game runs only on Windows and uses the kernel-level XIGNCODE3 anti-cheat; whether that keeps it off the Deck's Linux system has not been tested or stated by XL Games. Windows handhelds face the same minimum requirements as any PC.

Controller support

6:12 A controller works on PC. Steam lists "Full controller support" for ArcheAge Chronicles, and Ser Medieval notes that even though consoles are not part of Early Access, "you will still have controller support".
