Release Date and Early Access

2:02 ArcheAge Chronicles has no release date yet: Early Access on Steam is planned for later in 2026 (Kakao Games has said Q4 2026), and no date has been announced, as of Oct 20, 2026. Executive Producer Yongjin Ham wrote on Sep 15, 2026 that Early Access is "coming sooner than you might think" and that XL Games is "planning for later this year"; the Steam page reads "Planned Release Date: To be announced". Ser Medieval, in his guide of Oct 18, 2026, says he could not get the Early Access price confirmed either, then reads out the Steam page's Early Access FAQ: XL Games launches in Early Access to hear from players and respond quickly, and expects it to last "approximately 9 to 12 months, with both major and minor updates". Until then, a free demo runs on Steam from Oct 19 to Oct 26, 2026 (Demo). What the game is about is on ArcheAge Chronicles.

When is the Early Access date?

XL Games has not announced it. The studio's own words are "later this year" (2026), from Ham's letter of Sep 15, 2026, and on Sep 18, 2026 Global Project Manager Don promised more details "on our Early Access launch, including the date, the box price, and when you'll actually be able to get your hands on the game, as soon as we're ready to share those." The "Q4 2026" that press reports repeat comes from Kakao Games, XL Games' former publisher and majority owner: its investor call of Feb 11, 2026 gave a fourth-quarter launch plan, and in Aug 2026 its co-CEO Lee Si-woo called Steam Early Access in Q4 2026 "locked in", as Massively OP reported. Neither XL Games' Steam posts nor its site have used "Q4". As of Oct 20, 2026, there is no date, no hour and no pre-load.

What Early Access includes

1:58 Early Access holds three regions of Auroria, four classes with two weapons each, and the game's main systems. Ham says in XL Games' video of Oct 7, 2026, in Korean with English subtitles, that the build being prepared has three regions and four classes, each designed with three weapons: two are shown first and the others are still in development. The Steam FAQ names the regions, Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains, and lists "exploration, dungeons, raids, PvP, housing, crafting, trading, and company and guild activities", adding that "Each region has its own narratives and quests". Classes stay gender-locked at the start; Ham wrote on Oct 18, 2026 that more gender options are in development. The classes are on Classes, and what Early Access has that the demo lacks is on Demo.

How long Early Access lasts, and what full release adds

3:04 XL Games expects Early Access to last approximately 9 to 12 months, and the full release to add regions, a third weapon for each class and more. Ser Medieval reads the FAQ's list: more regions of Auroria "with new adventures and stories", more gender options "starting with select classes", a third weapon for each class, work on combat balance, progression and quality-of-life features "including party channels", and more life skills and community content. XL Games adds that the timeline "may change depending on player feedback and development progress" and that it will share a development roadmap. No full-release date or window exists, as of Oct 20, 2026. Ser Medieval also names the third weapons from the Network Test's character screen, but XL Games has not named them.

Will the price change?

ArcheAge Chronicles is buy to play, and its Early Access price has not been announced, as of Oct 20, 2026. The Steam FAQ says: "The price may change at full release to reflect the additional content and improvements. We'll announce any pricing changes in advance." Ham has promised no paid shop at the start of Early Access and no pay-to-win items, ever (Price and Pay to Win).

Consoles

Early Access is on Steam for Windows only. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions were announced at the Sep 24, 2024 reveal and their store pages are live, but there is no console date, no console Early Access, and no 2026 statement from XL Games about them, as of Oct 20, 2026. Has ArcheAge Chronicles been delayed?

10:18 Yes, many times, though always as a window rather than a date. Every target before "later in 2026" passed, and Ser Medieval's Network Test review (Sep 14, 2026) shows how players read the latest one: he notes the game "was slated to release in quarter four of this year", wonders aloud whether it will slip, and guesses January or February if it does. What happens before Early Access

The free Steam Next Fest demo runs until Oct 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM PDT, and its progress does not carry over to Early Access. It follows a six-hour Network Test for players in the US and Canada on Sep 12, 2026, and closed focus group tests in 2025 and Jun 2026. Since Sep 15, 2026 XL Games publishes the game itself, so the Early Access announcement will come from XL Games on Steam, its official site, X (@ArcheAgeChron) and its Discord.
