ArcheAge 2 First Official Trailer (Nov 18, 2022)
The first footage came from Kakao Games, then the publisher, when the game was still called ArcheAge 2. Its 90-second "First Official Trailer" was uploaded on Nov 18, 2022 after the reveal at G-Star 2022 in Busan, with the line: "ArcheAge 2 is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and will be coming to PC and consoles." IGN posted the same teaser on Nov 17, 2022 as "ArcheAge 2: First Teaser", describing "the upcoming MMORPG sequel from Jake Song and developer XL Games along with Kakao Games". It has music and no speech. Why the name changed is on Development History.
ArcheAge 2 Jake Song interview (Nov 18, 2022)
Kakao Games also posted a three-minute interview with Jake Song, XL Games' founder, on Nov 18, 2022 (Korean speech). Here he says the game is being made for PC and consoles, that action combat is the top priority, that the story's staging is being strengthened, and that it aims for top-tier visuals in Unreal Engine 5 with a seamless open world you can progress through in any order. He left XL Games in early 2025; see XL Games.
State of Play Trailer (Sep 24, 2024)
The reveal trailer, 94 seconds of in-engine cinematic and staged combat with no game interface, introduced ArcheAge Chronicles at Sony's State of Play on Sep 24, 2024, "formerly known as ArcheAge 2", for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Its description calls the game "an online action RPG with stunning Unreal Engine 5 visuals". The frames show a town, a harbor, a brute in an arena, a rider on a horse in a town street (0:28), a party fighting a lightning-struck giant in a marsh (0:58 to 1:07), sailing ships off a burning harbor (1:10) and a dragon in flames (1:18), ending on a voice telling the hero, "Prove yourself", and "Perhaps you might become one of us." Watch XL Games' own upload: PlayStation's ("First Announce Trailer | PS5 Games") and Xbox's ("Official Reveal Trailer") uploads of the same trailer are age-restricted and will not play embedded. The ships and the horse are not confirmed features; see Mounts and Sailing.
On Sep 26, 2024, the channel added "Devs Thrilled to Announce First Trailer Reveal on State of Play", a 32-second clip in which the executive producer and the creative director react to the reveal (Korean speech).
Developer Diary - Our Vision (Oct 10, 2024)
The first developer video, "Developer Diary - Our Vision" (Oct 10, 2024, 4:47), mixes interviews with studio and gameplay footage, in Korean with English subtitles. It opens behind the scenes, with a developer explaining that action combat on an MMO server runs into network and physical limits. Later the team explains the name "Chronicles", the story's conflict over Auroria between settlers seeking independence and the nations that want to keep it a colony, the choice to release on consoles as well as PC, and the return of trade, housing and farming. The same day, XL Games posted a written diary with the same title on Steam.
PvP and Trade Run clips (Sep 4, 2026)
After nearly two years of near silence, XL Games posted three short clips of captured play on Sep 4, 2026, with no speech. "PvP Gameplay #1" (41 seconds) shows two players fighting on a sunny stone path below a ruined temple; its description reads "A glider comes into view. Enemy spotted. The Ranger throws an axe. The Warrior parries it, sending it straight back." XL Games later wrote that Executive Producer Yongjin Ham played the Hatchet Ranger and Creative Director Jay Lee the Longsword Warrior in its PvP footage. How PvP works is on PvP.
"PvP Gameplay #2" (67 seconds) is a party fight in a dry field: "Things escalated quickly. A chance encounter. A sudden fight. Then the allies showed up." Players with shields, axes and staffs trade blows and fire spells until the screen goes dark.
"Trade Run Gameplay" (30 seconds) follows a convoy of covered wagons along a forest road with the game's interface on screen; the region title "Camas Forest" appears at 0:20 as the clip ends on an overturned cart. Its description: "The Trade Wagon is ready to roll." Trade is described on Trade Runs.
A Quick Look at Auroria (Sep 7, 2026)
The longest look at real play is "ArcheAge Chronicles: A Quick Look at Auroria" (Sep 7, 2026, 3:18), captured play with the full interface, narrated in English by the developers. They open: "This is Auroria, 50 years after the original. It's a new kind of ArcheAge, a discovery-driven action MMO RPG." The tour then shows a camp, potion brewing at a cauldron, a fight with a maned beast, a party against a large bear, swimming among coral, gliding over a lake, a dungeon, trade goods and wagon driving, and a party boss fight in a golden hall, with lines such as "Housing, crafting, trade. This is ArcheAge DNA." It opened sign-ups for the Sep 12 Network Test. The Korean outlet Inven posted a 4K copy the same day. What the tour shows is covered on Auroria, Exploration and Gliders and Combat.
The Direction the Devs Are Taking (Oct 7, 2026)
In "The Direction the Devs Are Taking" (Oct 7, 2026, 6:44), Executive Producer Yongjin Ham speaks to the camera in Korean, with English subtitles burned in and gameplay cut in. After a "What we're building" card, he takes the community's most common question, "What kind of game is ArcheAge Chronicles?", and answers that it is meant to place "more emphasis on exploration and cooperation than competition". Later he describes the Early Access build (three regions of Auroria, four classes, two weapons each first and a third in development) and the business model: buy to play, no paid shop when Early Access starts, and never pay to win. That promise is on Price and Pay to Win.
Official Demo Trailer (Oct 19, 2026)
The newest trailer is the 64-second "Official Demo Trailer", posted on Oct 19, 2026, the day the Steam Next Fest demo opened. It is a cinematic with no game interface: a house burns at night, a man is struck down in the dark, a dark-haired man glares over the fire with burned-in subtitles reading "Save the righteous stare." and "Begging would've been wiser.", and a blond man with a scarred face smiles before an underwater fall and the end card "Play demo now, Oct. 19-26 @ 10 AM Pacific". XL Games' Steam post says it shows the opening story "set in Auroria 50 years after the events of the original ArcheAge", with "hints of a betrayal"; ZDNet Korea notes that part of what it shows is not in the playable demo. Its description promises the new Throne of Hinnon dungeon and PvP channels. GameTrailers reposted it as "Official Demo Launch Trailer". The story is on Story.
