Throne of Hinnon
Throne of Hinnon is the hidden high-level dungeon of the ArcheAge Chronicles Steam Next Fest demo (Oct 19 to 26, 2026), outside the normal quest path and opened with a key hidden in the world. A creator found the key on a ledge at the Sunken Ruins and the door at the Altar of Seals; inside are four sigils and a Reaper boss.
Throne of Hinnon is the secret dungeon of the ArcheAge Chronicles demo: a high-level dungeon that sits outside the demo's normal quest path, opened with a key that XL Games hid "somewhere that won't be easy to find" (Executive Producer Yongjin Ham, Oct 18, 2026). In Ser Medieval's guide of Oct 20, 2026, the key lies on a small ledge at the Sunken Ruins, northeast of the Watchtower of Hope: climb toward the top, then glide across the pillars instead of going all the way, and the "Throne of Hinnon dungeon key" appears in your bag (YouTube's captions mishear it as "Throne of Hen"). Every route detail on this page comes from his video; XL Games has not published a walkthrough. The free Demo runs until Oct 26, 2026, 10:00 AM PDT.

What it is
Throne of Hinnon is the new content XL Games built for the demo. In its video of Oct 7, 2026 (Korean speech with English subtitles), Ham says the Steam Next Fest demo adds a new dungeon and PvP to what players saw in the September Network Test. His letter of Oct 18, 2026 describes it as an extra challenge "for players who enjoy mastering the combat system", a dungeon that "may be extremely difficult at the level you reach during the demo", and invited players to share the key's location on Discord. Global Project Manager Don wrote on Oct 15, 2026 that "it won't be an easy clear" with the progression available in the demo, which makes it a test of your first build. How dungeons work in general (instanced for up to four, soloable) is on Dungeons.
Finding the key
The key is out in the demo's open world, at the Sunken Ruins. Ser Medieval knows of no required quest, though some players suspected one: lighting a lantern and fighting a revenant on a nearby pier. From the Sunken Ruins, northeast of the Watchtower of Hope, he climbs to the high point people jump from, near a Nui Statue, then glides from pillar to pillar, waiting out the glider's cooldown, to a small ledge where the key sits. He already had the key and could not pick it up a second time. Gliders and how you earn one are on Exploration and Gliders.
The door at the Altar of Seals
With the key, go back to the Altar of Seals. Ser Medieval names it as the place where you fight the Bound Tyrant, the skeleton boss, and says you can teleport there if you have Hereafter stones. Beside it is a door the key opens, leading to the secret dungeon and its final boss. He recommends being at least around level 8 or 9 and bringing a full party, because the enemies inside are elite, and says four sigils around the dungeon must be activated as you go.
Inside the dungeon
The enemies are tough even when you are near their level. Ser Medieval, at level 11 with a tempered sword, still calls them very strong. You can run past them to reach the end boss, but he suggests farming them for tempering stones, for weapons and armor alike, and he wears armor he got from the dungeon: the Ancient Soldier's helmet and armor. It is heavy armor, and armor weight matters, so he doubts a Mage or Ranger can wear it. A lever has to be pulled along the way. After the fourth sigil a gate opens, and the boss room lies below; entering it plays a cutscene.
Two warnings from the same run: avoid starting a fatal attack (a finisher) while several enemies are around, because they can hit you during its animation, and watch your inventory, since a full bag slowed his movement through encumbrance.
The Reaper boss
The final boss is a Reaper, and the fight is about learning its pattern. Ser Medieval's description: right at the start it teleports and immediately slashes, so dodge instead of charging in. Its attacks are slow, but just fast enough to throw you off, with several different timings, and no other enemies spawn. A party can make it harder, because the boss switching targets throws off the timing, but he still recommends it: if you go down while someone keeps fighting, you can return before the boss resets and come back with full potions. If you die, a portal at the start takes you straight back to the boss room.
Break the boss, then punish it. When its health bar flashes, Ser Medieval explains, it is about to break and opens itself to a fatal attack, which is also the moment to use your heaviest skills. Watch your stamina rather than attacking too fast.
One attack needs a delayed dodge. When the Reaper shows a red marker for its heavy teleport attack, wait a split second before dodging: it is slower than the regular teleport slash. Light attacks between its blocks keep up the pressure, and small staggers add up.
At 50% health the fight changes. Ser Medieval says the Reaper swaps its regular teleport for a longer combo of attacks from then on. Once you know the pattern, he calls the boss "cake"; he finished his own run on his last potion. Other bosses of the demo and the Network Test are on Bosses, and the combat moves the fight tests (dodge, parry, stamina, breaking a guard) are on Combat.
Rewards
Ser Medieval got about 2,785 experience points, apparently on the kill rather than on completion, and loot at the end; the armor he shows (the Ancient Soldier's helmet and armor) and tempering stones came from the dungeon. XL Games has not published a loot table, as of Oct 20, 2026. Because demo progress does not carry over to Early Access (XL Games, Oct 1, 2026), nothing earned here is kept.
Hinnon or Hinon?
The official English name is Throne of Hinnon, as XL Games writes it in its Steam posts and the demo trailer's description. Korean press writes 히논의 왕좌, which Inven Global and Gamemeca render as "Throne of Hinon"; YouTube's automatic captions turn it into "Throne of Hen". All three mean the same dungeon.

DungeonsArcheAge Chronicles dungeons are instanced just for you or your party of up to four, share quest progress inside, and can be soloed (XL Games, Oct 15, 2026). Raids are on the Early Access content list, but their size has not been announced as of Oct 20, 2026. -
Exploration and GlidersAuroria is built to be wandered, XL Games says: few map markers, points of interest and chests that give most of your EXP, a glider you earn through quests, swimming and underwater gathering, and Nui Statues that creators report double as fast travel points. Mounts are not confirmed, as of Oct 20, 2026. -
BossesArcheAge Chronicles has field bosses that roam the open world and drop gear and unique crafting materials, bosses that guard Raeven's Coilstones (the source of trait points), dungeon bosses, story bosses, and a timed, souped-up boss fight with a leaderboard in each zone's Hereafter Challenge (XL Games, Oct 15, 2026). -
CombatArcheAge Chronicles uses action combat, not tab targeting: light and heavy attacks, dodges, rolls, blocks and parries on a stamina bar, two weapons you swap between in a fight, and skills reached through button combinations instead of a hotbar of dozens of slots. Ranged attacks can be parried straight back at the attacker.
