Auroria

Auroria is the land of ArcheAge Chronicles, the continent of the original ArcheAge's lore, rediscovered in "the Age of Pioneers" about 50 years after the original game. Early Access has three of its regions, Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains; the demo is set in Diamond Shores, and no full map has been published, as of Oct 20, 2026.

Auroria is the land where ArcheAge Chronicles is set: the continent of the original ArcheAge's lore, rediscovered and settled about 50 years after the original game, a wild country that was once home to an ancient civilization. XL Games' Steam page puts it as "Auroria, a legend long forgotten, has been rediscovered. It is the Age of Pioneers." Jake Song, XL Games' founder, described the setting in Kakao Games' interview of Nov 18, 2022, when the game was still called ArcheAge 2 (Korean speech): the time when Auroria was first discovered and people began to settle it, with a feel "like the Wild West era"; an ancient civilization once lived there, and after thousands of years without people the land grew wild again, so players explore it and rediscover the old civilization and its secrets. Early Access has three regions of Auroria: Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains.

What Auroria is

XL Games opens its own tour of the game with the land: "This is Auroria, 50 years after the original. It's a new kind of ArcheAge, a discovery-driven action MMO RPG." That is XL Games' "A Quick Look at Auroria" of Sep 7, 2026, narrated by the developers. Its developer diary of Oct 10, 2024 places the story "during the discovery of Auroria, roughly 50 years after the events of the original", and Executive Producer Yongjin Ham's letter of Jul 31, 2025 sets the scene: "Auroria, once wild and dangerous, is starting to come alive again. People are returning. Settlements are rising from ruins."

You arrive as one of those pioneers. The Steam page says you take "your first steps into Auroria as a member of an established trading company", among "many hopeful pioneers" headed there "to make a name for themselves". The conflict over who controls Auroria, its settlers or the nations that want to keep it a colony, is on Story.

The State of Play trailer of Sep 24, 2024 gives Auroria its place in the old history. A voice tells the hero: "Long ago, you humans slaughtered each other until the whole world lay in ruins. And yet, you have been granted another chance in Auroria." The trailer shows towns, a harbor and a rider on a horse in a town street in cinematic footage.

Auroria and the original ArcheAge

Auroria is the continent of the original game's lore: XL Games' Korean pages call it 원대륙 ("the Original Continent"), the same Korean name the original used, and Gamemeca's English report of Oct 20, 2026 treats it as that continent. XL Games' English materials never mention Erenor, Nuia or Haranya, and nothing official says whether any other land of the original setting appears, as of Oct 20, 2026. Heroes of the old lore appear in the class stories instead: the Warrior is tied to Kyrios, the Ranger to the Firran hero Tahyang Kahlzit, the Berserker to Shyagon and the Mage to Aranzeb, according to XL Games' class reveals reported by MMORPG.com and GameVu (Jul to Sep 2026). See Classes and, for the older games, ArcheAge Series.

The regions

The Early Access build has three regions of Auroria. Ham says so in XL Games' video of Oct 7, 2026 (Korean speech with English subtitles), and the Early Access FAQ on Steam names them: "Diamond Shores, Gylden Ruins, and Astron Plains." The FAQ adds that "Each region has its own narratives and quests, but your adventure doesn't have to follow a set path", and lists "Expand regions to explore in Auroria with new adventures and stories" among the plans before full release. Early Access is planned for later in 2026 on Steam; see Release Date and Early Access.

Diamond Shores is the demo's region. XL Games calls it "one of the game's early-game regions", and the Demo (Oct 19 to 26, 2026) offers "select content centered around Diamond Shores". Ser Medieval said in his guide of Oct 18, 2026 that the demo opens both a west and an east section of it. Korean press translates the name as "Shining Coast", and MeinMMO described the region on Oct 20, 2026 as "a more grounded coastal and pirate setting".

Gylden Ruins and Astron Plains are known only by name, as of Oct 20, 2026: XL Games has not shown or described either.

Places seen so far

Some places are named on screen in XL Games' own clips. The "Trade Run Gameplay" clip of Sep 4, 2026 drives a convoy of covered wagons along a forest road, and the region title "Camas Forest" appears at 0:20. The Auroria tour shows a dungeon with "Altar of Seals" on screen (1:29) and gliding over a lake toward a ruined tower (1:19 to 1:23).

Other place names come from creators who played. In the demo, Ser Medieval's guide to the hidden Throne of Hinnon dungeon (Oct 20, 2026) sends players to the Sunken Ruins, "northeast of the watchtower of hope", to glide across pillars for the key, and then back to the Altar of Seals, where its door opens. In the Network Test, Anders' footage of Sep 14, 2026 names the Watchtower of Hope, a Pirate Hideout dungeon and a Cliffs of Madness dungeon in its chapters. These are the creators' readings of their builds, not an official list.

Nui Statues and Hersander's Towers

Two kinds of landmarks stand across Auroria. Nui Statues are where you switch between standard and PvP channels (PvP) and where Nui Tears found in the open world raise your maximum HP (XL Games, Oct 4 and Oct 15, 2026); creators report fast travel between them, covered on Exploration and Gliders. Every zone also hides a set of towers of Hersander, "the god of gambling", whose riddles ask for items; satisfying all of a zone's towers unlocks the Hereafter Challenge (Hersander's Tower). Raeven's Coilstones, each guarded by a boss, hold the trait points described on Progression and Traits.

Soft early light in a hazy wetland. Weathered planks of a boardwalk fill the foreground with two posts sticking up, and green water with reeds and floating weed spreads beyond. Twisted, leaning trees stand on the banks at left and center, a crumbling square tower and broken walls stand at right beside a willow, and a pale rocky cliff rises in the mist behind. No game interface is shown.

The map

XL Games has not published a map of Auroria or its size, as of Oct 20, 2026. In the Network Test of Sep 12, 2026, Ser Medieval found the map "quite big", with a decent chunk open and some of it, including islands, blacked out, and noticed that the bodies of water had names. That made him think naval mechanics might come later; XL Games has not announced any (see Mounts and Sailing).

Azrial said in his Network Test video of Sep 14, 2026 that the test was limited to "quite a small area of the overall map", but that the map he looked at "looks genuinely massive", and that he did not know how much of it was finished. The world itself is seamless and split into channels of about 100 players per zone copy (Multiplayer and Guilds).
